5 Plug Harness
No, you do not need to make any modifications to the flex circuit. Our bulb holders do not have any exposed contacts near the flex circuit pads, so there can be no issue with shorting out the flex circuit.
Electroluminescent Gauge Faces
Yes, each gauge comes with a glow needle and two metal adapters to adapt the needle to the gauge shaft.
This can be difficult, particularly difficult with the 1981 and newer trucks. We have an installation video that shows multiple ways to remove the needles from your factory cluster. Regardless of which method you use, our kits include the necessary needle adapters to get you on the road (video link coming).
This is a possibility, I broke one while doing early development. Follow our installation instructions for the best chance of success. If you do happen to break the needle shaft, we’ve got no fix for that. Time to chase down a replacement gauge and give it another shot.
This was one of our initial concerns as well, but we’ve found that it is actually much easier than we expected to get the gauge faces centered during installation. Check out our installation video for more information (video link coming).
The system is mix-and-match. You only need one inverter to illuminate all of the gauges. The gauge faces can be transferred to another cluster, or you can just replace the gauge(s) in your existing cluster and order the individual gauge faces you need for the update.
We offer an overdrive-compatible PRNDL for the R/V trucks, which should also work with your overdrive-equipped truck. More than 4 gears in your auto? We’ve got nothing on that yet.
Yes, we will also be offering a white face option that will have the same look as the OEM gauges with the colors inverted—white on black instead of the factory black on white.
Yes, you can pick and choose as many, or few, of the faces that will meet your needs.
We have not yet developed electroluminescent faces for aftermarket heat/AC systems. If we get enough interest, we will pursue these as well.
In Dash Infotainment System
There should not be any significant trimming for installation of just the bezel, though you may need to very lightly trim the dash pad base in the upper right corner for the cluster to slide in easily.
Depending on the accessories selected, you may need to do some trimming in the lower right corner where the factory radio was located. This area is often already cut up for installation of an aftermarket radio.
We have maintained the same size opening for the HVAC panel, so you should experience no issues using all of the functions of the heat and AC system.
We will be offering pockets and switch panels that can be installed in the two AC vent locations for vehicles not equipped with air conditioning.
The system installs with a universal wiring harness; it requires the same installation procedure as any other aftermarket stereo system. The wires are clearly marked to indicate where they need to be wired for proper function.
Yes, the system is pre-loaded with Apple Carplay and Android Auto for convenient synchronization with your phone.
Modern pickups typically have at least 2 rear-facing cameras, one to view the bed and one to view the hitch. We figured why not have a couple extras for potential forward mounting locations, or when properly arranged, the system can give a 360-degree surround view.
Yes, the system is WiFi capable and can be connected to your home WiFi or you can use your phone as a hotspot for app downloads.
Yes, the system has RCA and DSP outputs for your sound system.
